The graphics for Diamond were pretty good, considering it was a handheld game. Everything was very clean. The details were very accurate as well. You could see every little detail on the characters' clothing, which impressed me.

The storyline was ok, standard to a pokemon game. Fill up the pokedex, beat the elite four, blah blah blah. There were a few twists, such as Dialga, the legendary pokemon who created the Sinnoh region, and Uxie, Alzef, and Mespirit, who are three legendaries that you rescue from Team Galactic. Team Galactic were the cronies.

The characters weren't anything special. There were a few of the main characters, and then a bunch of random people that would give you stuff. The only character that I liked was your 'best friend', who was always rushing around and challenging you every few gyms. Your main character is either a boy or a girl, depending on which you choose, and you get to name them. The girl was cute, I liked her.

The controls were also standard to a Pokemon game. I just wish they incorporated the touch pad more. You barely use it, except to battle and to use the Poketch. The Poketch is a watch with a ton of useless apps, like Dot Artist (spread the dots around!) and Notepad (write yourself notes!) But they had some useful apps, like Marking Map (which could track a pokemon) and the calculator.

The music was pretty good, but it got really annoying after a while. The battle music alone was enough to drive anyone to insanity after the hundreth battle or so. I just turned the music down when I was going through caves or walking through grass.

Pokemon was an overall fun game. I don't know how much replay value it has, so I'll probably end up selling it back to Gamestop. If you liked other Pokemon games, then you'll definitely enjoy Diamond.
